The proceedings of the Padua free software convention are online
Dec 09, 2010
The event, under the patronage of PloneGov Italia, coincided with the Padua stop of the ContènTOUR 2010, our dissemination initiative about open standards and free software that took place also in Milan and Bologna.
The proceedings are now available online, in the Civic Network section devoted to the event.
The convention was aimed to show the best practices of Organizations, including the City of Padua, that, in the favorable legal and cultural context of the Veneto Region, invested consistently in technological and cultural growth, and engaged in reusing FLOSS (Free/Libre Open Source Software) solutions. The PloneGov model, a community centered on a specific multi-purpose technology, was directly illustrated by the Public Organizations, with case studies and practical examples of reuse and fruitful collaboration.
The workshop was concluded by the round table "The strategic role of free software in the Public Administration", with the participation of ANCITEL and Italian Linux Society.
